it's official
well, minus the financial transactions liam and i are officially enrolled to begin our masters degrees as of today. it hardly seems real. i have been up to my eyeballs in amazon searches, used books and tons of reading. we're doing the module program here, even though we're local it is the best alternative for our family and liam's work. lots of reading and writing on our own and the first of the two weeks intensives in october. i'll be blogging this from my 'named' blog instead of here, but i just wanted to explain in case things drop off severely due to the fact that i should (even now) have my face firmly planted in a book (non-fiction, ugh) :)

my family has just been through that, and yes I mean family, even though it was my dad who did his doctorate through Fuller in the USA, while living in QLD Australia, I edited his thesis from Victoria, and my sister went to Fuller with them for his graduation
there is a lot of work ahead
but rewards at the end

it's a master in ministry degree and we are both doing it together (well most of it is reading and that isn't 'together' and the papers won't be together - but the 2 week intensive has the same classes). can't wait for those!

Celebrating for you, but definitely wishing it was me, getting back on the horse. But the call to write, for now, is eclipsing the call to schooling. So I'm more celebrating than envying, for you, anyway.
I'll leave you both with the dedicatory verse from my entering seminary class, which has seemed appropriate time and time again. This is a translation by one of the LSTC professors:
Then David continued, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid of the size of the task, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the Lord is finished correctly."
(1 Chronicles 28:20)
I know you've heard this time and again, but it's worth repeating: God has not carried you this far to drop you on your ass. It will help to remember that, because you will come to doubt it, a time or two. (Or eighteen) That's why the 1st Chronicles passage has been so important to me.
