Don't you love when they prove what we knew in our hearts all along?

YES!

thank you for putting into words exactly what my heart was thinking on this.

i have always used the terms "the touched and the untouched" - the untouched somehow seemed to be able to navigate through life effortlessly while those of us who have been "touched" (by generational addictions as well as abuse) are constantly trying to make up ground.

after reading an article on the systemic affects of racism, I wonder if that kind of abuse affects the brain the same way...

yes erin, i think it has to do with ALL types of abuse, not just sexual. i think spiritual abuse probably has this kind of affect too, and i would hate to think what kind of results our souls would have on an mri...

What Texaco said.

Touched and untouched. Hmmm. Reminds me of why I first picked up The Ragamuffin Gospel, which at that time had a girl dragging a teddy bear on the cover. I don't know if this is in that book, but I think of "people who can't seem to keep their cheese on their cracker."
