We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining - they just shine.
that was actually part of the conversation i had this week rob. i wonder if early co-dependency is sometimes mistaken for the 'call of god' - not always, not every time - but i have seen so much addiction in ministry (even if it's 'only' socially acceptable addiction like workaholism or risk-taking). people so desperate to please or fill an emptiness within themselves that only the vast black hole of emotional need that the church is could fill such junkies.
i know it's been true for liam and i. ministering from health and wholeness looks so very different than what we've done for the past 20 years.
and YES pornography is only a symptom - it's not the root at all in these situations. i am excited though that they are at least starting to crack the door of the churches to finally admit these things.

i'm not familiar with him, or really even the show, but yes, when people mess with our faith the damage is great indeed.
